Preparing a bonus program
The webinar explains how a bonus account differs from an immediate discount and which conditions to define before launch. Write down the rules for customers: which purchases earn bonuses, when bonuses become available, how much can be spent on one purchase, and whether bonuses expire. If the store is switching from discount cards, decide in advance how to move to bonus cards and explain the process to sales staff. The screens shown in the video match the 2013 version; check the help system for current steps.
Cards, earning bonuses, and payment
In Torgsoft, a discount card type contains the bonus system settings, while the discount policy defines accumulation thresholds and percentages. Assign the customer the required card type and bonus accrual method. After a sale, check that bonuses were added to the customer’s card; on the next purchase, check the available balance and the amount that can be paid with bonuses. Also check how product returns are handled: bonuses earned on a purchase are deducted, and bonuses spent on it are returned according to their association with the products.
Checking the conditions
The card type rules can set the accrual period, bonus expiration, and maximum share of a purchase payable with bonuses. For several customer groups, prepare separate card types and matching policies. After setup, check the bonus transaction reports and several typical sales scenarios. Do not reuse numerical examples or button names from the 2013 recording without checking them: the available settings and the program’s appearance may have changed.
