Analysis of overdue goods: search for illiquidity, revaluation and return
Searching for "dead" stock: how to find goods from a specific supplier that have been "stuck" in stock (for example, sold 0 times during the season) in order to return them or arrange a sale?
To search for «dead» stock from a specific supplier and take further action with it (return or sale), Torgsoft provides a special tool — «Analysis of slow-moving goods».
This analysis helps quickly identify goods that have been in stock for a long time in order to reduce their price, set a discount or return them to the supplier.
Step 1. How to find goods that have not been sold

-
Open the main menu item Analysis -> Analysis of slow-moving goods.
-
Specify the Analysis period (for example, the start and end dates of the season) and select the required Accounting center (store or warehouse).
-
To select a specific supplier, use the Product filter. Find the «Supplier» field in it and specify the required counterparty.
-
To search for goods that were sold 0 times, pay attention to the Number of sales field. In this field, you need to specify the threshold below which the program will search for sales. Enter the number 1. This means that the program will display goods whose number of sales is less than 1 (that is, equal to 0).
-
If necessary, enable the switch Show only those goods that were in stock at the warehouse on the analysis start date.
-
Click the Refresh button to generate the list.
As a result, a table with a list of «dead» stock from the selected supplier for the specified period will appear on the screen. Then you can select the required goods in the list and apply the necessary actions to them directly from this window.
Step 2. Option A. Arrange a sale (Discount or Revaluation)
If you decide to quickly sell these remaining goods, you can use the buttons at the top of the analysis window:
-
Set a product discount. Select the goods and click the Set product discount button. A window will open where you can specify a discount as a percentage or in currency (for example, minus 50% or minus UAH 200).
Important: a product discount has the highest priority. It will always be applied when this product is sold,
regardless of whether the customer has a discount card. The discounted product will be highlighted in yellow.
-
Change the price (Revaluation). Click the button to create a Revaluation act (if there is no act, click «Add»). In the window, enter the New retail price and click Save. The price will change after the revaluation is applied in Document — Revaluation act.
Step 2. Option B. Return the goods to the supplier
If the goods are subject to return:
-
Select the required items in the list.
-
Click the Add to supplier return button.
-
The «Select supplier return» window will open. You can choose an existing (open) return invoice from the list or create a new one by clicking the Add button.
-
After selecting the invoice, click the Select button. The goods will be automatically added to the supplier return document with the remaining stock quantity and will disappear from the analysis after clicking Refresh.
Alternative search method (for general analytics)
You can also use the Sales profitability for the period report (menu Analysis -> Sales profitability for the period). This mode has a special profit filter where you can select «Goods that were not sold». However, the «Analysis of slow-moving goods» tool is more functional because it allows you to revalue goods or send them to a return invoice directly from the report window.
