"Operation not supported" error in Torgsoft ECR

The error occurs when Torgsoft loses access to the ACSK cryptographic libraries required for signing receipts. In 95% of cases, this is a local issue with the path settings to the End User folder, not a failure on the tax server.

These instructions involve checking system paths and access rights to the cryptographic libraries used by the software ECR to sign documents, so they should be followed carefully. An incorrect path change, deleting files from the End User folder, or careless editing of access rights may result in a complete loss of the ability to fiscalize receipts on this workstation. Before making any changes, make sure you understand where the ACSK libraries are located and under which user account the program is running. If access to system folders is restricted or you are unsure whether you are acting correctly, contact your system administrator or technical support.

When the «Operation is not supported» error appears

  • When trying to open a shift.

  • When trying to fiscalize a receipt or generate a Z-report.

  • After a Windows update, moving the program to another drive, or changing user permissions.

How to understand that the problem is in the cryptographic libraries

Why Torgsoft cannot see the ACSK libraries

  1. The path to the libraries is lost: the settings contain an incorrect path to the End User folder.

  2. Phantom path: visually the path looks correct, but the system link has become broken.

  3. Insufficient permissions: the Windows user does not have permission to read the folder with the libraries.

Important: if the error says «Offline mode is prohibited for software ECR» or «The certificate has been revoked», this is a limitation of the tax service. This article addresses only the «Operation is not supported» issue.

How to restore access to the End User libraries

Step 1. Re-select the library directory (Main solution)

Even if the path looks correct, it must be refreshed manually.

  1. Go to the Settings — Software ECR menu.

  2. Find the field «Directory of cryptographic libraries».

  3. Click the selection button (three dots ...).

  4. Find the End User folder.

  • Standard path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Institute of Informational Technologies\Certificate Authority-1.3\End User.
  1. Select it and click OK.

  2. Save the settings.

Step 2. Check the files

Make sure the End User folder is not empty (it must contain .dll files, for example EUSign.dll).

Step 3. What to do if the problem is related to access rights

In the properties of the End User or Institute of Informational Technologies folder (the Security tab), grant full access to the current Windows user or to the Everyone group.

How to check that access to the libraries has been restored

  1. Restart Torgsoft and try to perform the «Service deposit» operation or open a shift.

  2. If the receipt is printed or the shift opens, the problem has been resolved.

How to avoid losing access again

  • Do not move the ACSK folders unless absolutely necessary.

  • Add the Certificate Authority-1.3 folder to your antivirus exclusions if it blocks access.

What is important to remember

If you see the «Operation is not supported» error, re-select the path to the End User folder. This restores the lost connection between the program and the cryptographic libraries.
