Receiving and selling
For equipment, specify the product type, warranty period and required serial number tracking mode. When receiving goods, enter the serial number for each unit. Before selling, check that it matches the markings on the box and product. The sales document links a specific unit to the customer and the warranty start date.
Service and returns
If a customer contacts you about a warranty issue, find the sale by serial number, check the warranty period and create the required repair or return document. Return defective goods to the supplier in a separate operation so that stock levels are updated correctly. The 2015 webinar shows an earlier interface; refer to the current mode description.
