Printing Nova Poshta Shipping Labels from Torgsoft: Choosing a Printer, Setting Up the Template, and Troubleshooting Common Printing Issues
If a retail store or online store regularly ships orders via Nova Poshta, it is important to organize shipping label printing so that labels are produced without misalignment, skipped labels, or barcode issues. This requires choosing the right printer, setting the correct label size in the driver, and calibrating the sensor.
In Torgsoft, shipping waybills can be created directly in the software through Nova Poshta integration. Once the shipment is created, the label is printed on the connected printer.
Which Printer Is Suitable for Printing Shipping Labels?
To print Nova Poshta labels, you need a printer that supports the required label format.
The video covers these models:
How to Create and Print a Shipping Waybill in Torgsoft
After setting up Nova Poshta integration, you can create shipping waybills directly in Torgsoft. The document contains the recipient’s details, shipment parameters, and other required information. Once the shipping waybill has been created, you can proceed directly to printing the label. Before printing, check the page size in the printer driver. If it is set incorrectly, the label may be misaligned, cut off, or printed at the wrong scale.
What to Do If the Printer Skips Labels
One common problem is that the printer prints one label and then skips one or more labels, or the print starts shifting. This is usually caused by incorrect detection of label boundaries. In this case, the sensor needs to be calibrated.
Some printer models support hardware calibration using a button on the printer itself. Others require a dedicated utility. Before calibration, also check that the label roll is loaded correctly and the sensor is in the proper position.
How to Improve Barcode Print Quality
If a barcode is printed too lightly, scanners may have difficulty reading it. You can increase the print density or thermal printhead temperature setting in the printer driver. This makes the print darker and improves contrast. However, avoid setting the value to maximum unnecessarily. Excessive temperature can reduce print quality and place additional strain on the printhead.
Calibrating the ARTA-2406D Printer
For the ARTA-2406D, the label sensor can be calibrated using a software utility. This is particularly useful if the printer starts skipping labels after changing the roll, label format, or material type. After calibration, perform a test print and check that each new label starts at the correct position.
Printing Shipping Labels Through a Remote Server
A separate situation arises when Torgsoft runs on a remote server via RDP.
In this configuration, a local printer may be redirected to the remote session with different driver settings. As a result, page sizes may change, labels may be skipped, or only part of a label may be printed.
One option — is to select a driver that works correctly over RDP.
Another option — is to use a network printer with Ethernet or Wi-Fi. In this case, the printer connects to the network and operates via an IP address without relying on USB device redirection to the remote session.
